Wow, it has been WAY to long since I have posted something new! I was a little pre-occupied trying to get things made for a boutique I did last weekend, but don’t fear, I have something new to share with you!
A while ago I saw this 3-D flower frame idea on Makeit-loveit.com. I forgot about it until my sister made them and it peaked my interest again to make some for myself. Ashley, on make it and love it has a step-by-step tutorial on how to put it together. She even has tutorials on how to make the flowers.
I started off begging my awesome hubby to make me some frames with the extra wood we had laying around from the boutique. He got right on it and whipped them out for me in no time! Love the way they look! There are a couple things that I did a little differently. I painted a base coat of a golden yellow, then painted black over it when it was dry. When the black was dry I sanded the edges a little to let the golden yellow peek through. I also did a different flower for my center one. I found this tutorial for a big bloom flower. I loved that it was big.
Warning: This flower is a little time consuming but worth it in the end :). It suggests using fusible interfacing, I didn’t have any so I didn’t use it, but I think it worked out just fine. I have the perfect size wall for them to be adored on! 🙂
Thanks for Peeking!
